"We sadly had to call Vets2Home when our elderly cat Nemo was diagnosed with a tumour in his spleen, and our vets recommended he was put to sleep at the earliest opportunity to save him any more pain. We did not want this to happen in the clinical surroundings of the surgery, and fortunately Dr Suzen was able to offer us an appointment of our choosing the following afternoon, meaning that we had plenty of time to just laze around and love our poorly cat for one last day. I was dreading Dr Emma arriving as it would mean that time was over, but before she even crossed our threshold she radiated compassion. She explained very clearly to all of us what was going to happen next, and while she didn’t shy away from the details, which were hard to hear, we were left with an overwhelming feeling of positivity that we were doing the right thing. We discussed who was going to be holding him and how the timing would work until we were all satisfied, and were very grateful that Dr Emma was able to perform the procedure in the workshop in the garden. Cramped with the six of us, but only right as it had been where Nemo had mostly hung out for the last two weeks. The end when it came was brief and peaceful - he did literally just go to sleep…Dr Emma giving him a last examination before declaring that he was no longer in pain. Another moment I was dreading but in fact at the time I felt a great relief and tranquility, and that was all down to her skill with the owners as well as their pets. At no time did we feel rushed even though we later found out that despite it being 6pm, Dr Emma still had two other appointments before her working day was over. She gave us the time to do it right. When she arrived at our house, she was a calm, caring professional who was able to put us all at ease instantly. By the time she left, Dr Emma felt like a member of the family from what she had shared with us. We couldn’t have asked or hoped for anyone better. Nemo has a sister who is herself quite elderly. While we hope we are able to enjoy her company a good while longer, if the time comes and we have to follow the same path, we hope that Dr Emma is available to be with us once more."

"I have numerous recommendations about Vets to Home. I knew this would be who we would contact when the time was right. Dr. Suzen came out to us and showed true compassion and tenderness to our gorgeous girl, Mia who was at the ripe old age of 25! Dr. Suzen made me feel comfortable enough to hold Mia in my arms as the first injection was administered. I would never in a million years would have believed I would be capable of holding Mia in her last moments. This has given me great comfort in knowing that Mia drifted off feeling safe and loved. I am so grateful to Dr. Suzen for making this time feel like the most natural, loving experience. We have received numerous sympathy cards from Vets to Home along with “forget me not” seeds to plant in our garden as a tribute to our girl. The extra added touches meant the world to us. We cannot thank you enough"

"17th October 2023 was the hardest day of my life, on that morning I got up and found my beautiful little girl Lacey struggling she was hardly moving, I knew she was not in a good way.I picked her up and had her on my chest.I called her vet but they didn't do home visits and they gave me the Vets2Home phone number. That call was a difficult one and after breaking down on the phone I explained how Lacey was struggling and that I knew things weren't good. Dr Suzen came to our home later that day.Dr Suzen checked on Lacey and said she wasn't good and she was struggling to let go ,and I was doing the right thing for Lacey. I played Laceys song Bette Midler Wind Beneath my Wings and after a short time Dr Suzen stated the 2 step process. Lacey was lying on my chest I wanted her to know I was with her.Ever since that day every night I go to bed I tell her how much I love and miss her and I play her song For 17 years she was a special member of mine and moms family she was special and loved so much.my heart is broken and empty without her. The Vets2Home team and Dr Suzen made a difficult day really personal for us I wouldn't have done anything different as far as helping Lacey pass peacefully in my arms in her home.I love you Lacey xx "

"I met Dr Suzan 17 years ago when we first got Cookie, so the ending seemed so right for Suzan to with him at the end… We made the decision which was the hardest but kindest thing to do for our boy, trips to the vets were always so stressful so being at home was the best thing we could do for him, in true Cookie style, he made the decision and went on he’s own accord peacefully in my arms. Dr Suzen and team Thank you all so much for all your help in Cookies final days you made saying Goodbye that little bit easier . Sleep tight Cookie"

DEXTER

"On Friday 20th of February we said goodbye to our Dexter after 15 years. In 2010 we made the decision, to get Dexter. Without consulting our landlord or considering the practicalities of both working full time in London, we went ahead and brought Dexter home. Luckily for us, he basically trained himself and was so adaptable we easily made it work. Despite the ever changing landscape of our family, having children, moving to the South coast- he managed to fit in, never making a fuss and adding joy to every day. Though Dexter was patient, tolerant, easy and laid back.. he could also be feisty when he wanted to! Ask any vet, or anyone that ever tried to walk him on a lead…! He was born to roam free and didn’t like interference.. and roam free he did - he has been to France, Scotland, Wales, all over the U.K., and gained his sea legs many times over! He has been our shadow for 15 years and to be honest we are a little lost without his steady presence. We are looking forward to the days when the memories aren’t tinged with the sadness of loss. Because we do have the best memories. Thank you Dexter for being our best friend, we couldn’t have asked for anymore from you xxx"

"What an addition to our family you were and always have been. 16 years we were lucky enough to call you ours and every day you made getting up in the mornings a joy, even through the hard times, you were always there. A constant comfort in our lives, we couldn’t help but smile every time we looked at you and you made us laugh so much! You reached 16 and still chased your ball and loved your walks ! We thought you’d go on forever until that horrible tumour started to give you pain and discomfort. We knew that the kindest and best gift we could do for you to repay you for all the joy you brought was a peaceful goodbye at home. Your last day was a happy one filled with all your favourite foods, lots of cuddles and finally a relief from your pain forever. You will live on always in our hearts 💕 Dr suzen was amazing, we were so thankful for her."

"Thank you so much Suzen for coming to our home on a Sunday to help our wonderful doggy Bengie leave us so peacefully. Bengie was a wonderful sprit of a dog, a wonderful companion to Dexter, who is missing him along with the rest of the family. Bengie had ‘T’ cell lymphoma and he became ill very quickly, it is so sad but wonderful that Suzen could come to us. She was so lovely in the way she behaved to help us say goodbye. Thank you so very much Suzen."

"Our beautiful Barney, it was the hardest decision we have ever had to make when he lost his 2 year battle to cancer. Barney was a fun loving, happy boy, his tail never stopped wagging even in his sleep, he was a much-loved member of the family who bought joy to everyone he met. Our hearts are totally broken we loved and miss him so much, he didn’t have a bad bone in him and if it wasn’t for the awful disease, we are sure we would have had him for many more fun filled years. Dr Jo could not have been more supportive, caring and compassionate, we can’t thank him enough for helping our lad go peacefully with the dignity he deserved in the home he loved. We are sure Barney is still running free on the beach where he enjoyed his walks with his many doggie friends."

"Chloe, you chose to come into our lives and that we are so truly grateful for. You were and still are a Beautiful Soul, who loved us dearly with such loyalty. You had a rough start my Girl but you got through with the help of Doris Banham Rescue and once your path found us, we were lucky to have over 8 and half precious years together. It is never long enough sadly. We finally said goodbye on the 23rd October 2025, in the comfort of your own home. It was the least we could do for you and with the kindness and compassion of Dr Jo, you went so peacefully. We will miss you so much Chloe and will forever hold you in our hearts. Run free Beautiful. "Vets2Home helped me and my Wife say goodbye to our adored and irreplaceable love, Bert, an eleven year-old Whippet, who had to leave us sooner than any of us –except perhaps Bert, who knew his own body—had ever expected We were so sad and scared and shocked and -quite honestly- unsure how to proceed, when it became apparent that Bert had, without warning, reached the end of his life with us, and yet Vets2Home were the right measure of sensitive, and strong in the way they guided us through this saddest and last of our days as a family of three I can’t speak much about those last moments other than to reassure you that Vets2Home let us say goodbye in a way that matched the tone of the life Bert lived, that is to say, at home with us (and lots of cheese) and free of stress. Bert loathed the vets, it made him sick with stress and the drugs they gave him made him sicker still. Never would we have allowed him to die alone, on an operating table, through the sole use of a heart-stopping drug, or subject him to subsequent months of dwindling returns, living out his final days miserable and undergoing stressful and uncertain procedures with corporately owned businesses more interested in money than animal welfare Our recent loss still utterly breaks my heart. Me and my Wife are still processing what has happened but, being able to look back and think “Bert lived his life to the absolute full, and, when the time came, we were strong for him, and let him transition whilst being held by the ones who loved him most”. We have Vets2Home to thank for that."

"Yesterday our beautiful, feisty Diva Musical Kees Kiri (17/7/2011 – 19/2/2025) left us to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I will miss that perky face, her need to have the last word; her joy at going places with me; her never-ending love of puppies and children; her joy at rolling on the bed and dislodging the pillows and many other habits. Warm, loving and affectionate to those she deemed ‘worthy’, she ignored nastiness of any kind – never responding in like manner. Her lifelong joy at learning continued throughout her life – earning Level 1 and Level 2 scent work titles at 13. My special ‘puzzle mate’ right to the very end – I will miss you at my feet. Your trust and loyalty were humbling. Your warm and devilish personality will live in my heart always. Kiri – run free with Zorro, Carmen, Tosca and your siblings. I’m sure you’ll be the announcer at the Rainbow bridge gate."
